Ratan Tata Receives the Highest Civil Honour in Australia

The Order of Australia (AO), which is the highest Australian civil award, was recently conferred to the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata, for his contribution towards strengthening the connection between India and Australia. A month before receiving this award, Tata was appointed as an Honorary Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO). Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Barry O’ Farrell, took to Twitter to applaud Ratan Tata on receiving the Order of Australia and commended his efforts to better the bilateral relations between the two countries. He also shared a few pictures from the event. 

Ratan Tata is a well known industrialist and philanthropist. He has received several awards including the Padma Bhusan in 2000 and the Assam Baibhav in 2021.
