Ravichandran Ashwin Completes 500 Test Wickets

Ravichandran Ashwin became the second Indian bowler to have taken 500 Test wickets. R Ashwin achieved this landmark during the third match of the India vs England Test Series in Rajkot, Gujarat. Earlier, Legendary Indian cricketer Anil Kumble was the one to have achieved this great feat. Kumble took to social media platform X to congratulate Ashwin. 

During the third test match between England and India, R Aswin took the wicket of Zak Crowley. Before this match began, R Ashwin needed only one more wicket to make it to 500 wickets. During the first innings, R Ashwin achieved this marvellous glory. Ashwin is the second-fastest bowler to take 500 wickets in Test cricket.  

Srilankan Cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan has taken the highest amount of wickets in Test matches with a remarkable 800 wickets. Muralitharan and Ashwin are the only cricketers to date to have achieved this feat within 100 test matches. 

R Ashwin shines as a trailblazing Indian cricketer who was the fastest to have taken 250 test wickets in the world. He set a world record in 2017 by reaching 250 wickets in just 45 matches and continued to reach 300 wickets in 54 matches.
