Revival of the Olympics in 1896 

The Olympics is a game event where many people come to play sports. It is very famous around the whole world! More than 2000 years ago, this event was first played in Greece. It used to take place every four years. But, in the year 393, it was sadly stopped.

After almost 1500 years, a French man restarted the Olympics with the help of others. In 1896, the Olympics were restarted in Athens, Greece. Many people from different countries participated in it! 

The Olympics include many games including racing, swimming, cycling, tennis and gymnastics. This year, the Olympics will take place in Paris, France from July to August. 206 countries are sending their players to participate in it!
