Rohit Sharma Breaks Virat Kohli’s Record in World Test Championship Runs Tally

The World Test Championship (WTC) is also called the Test World Cup. It  is managed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was established on August 1, 2019 and has become one of the three main forms of cricket played internationally today. Every World Test Championship goes on for two years. 

In the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23, the two leading teams are India and Australia. They have been playing against each other since June 7 and will continue till June 11. The match is being held at The Oval in London, England. 

In the recent matches, the runs made by the Indian cricketer, Rohit Sharma, had led him to become India’s highest run-scorer in the World Test Championship. He broke the record of Virat Kohli, who had held this title until now. Rohit Sharma had made a total of 1809 runs, while Virat Kohli had a record of 1803 runs in the WTC history. 

Rohit Sharma only held the record for some time as Virat quickly overtook him to regain his title of the highest run-scorer in the World Test Championship history with a tally of 1817 runs.
