Royal Challengers Bangalore Wins Women’s Premier League in 2024 

On 17th March 2024, the second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) came to an end. The final match was between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and  Delhi Capitals (DC). This match took place in the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. For the first time, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the WPL trophy. 

Under the captaincy of Smriti Mandhana, RCB defeated Delhi Capitals by eight wickets. At first, Delhi Capitals scored 113 runs. With a score of 114 runs, RCB won the match. 

The stadium was filled with celebration of the first-ever win for RCB. The captain of the Men’s RCB team, legendary cricketer Virat Kohli congratulated the women’s team via a video call. Cricket legends, including Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag, congratulated the team on social media. 

It was the second time that the Delhi Capitals made it into the finals however, they are yet to win the title. The first WPL was won by Mumbai Indians, starting this extraordinary journey in women’s cricket.
