Satyajit Ray Statue in Jaisalmer

Satyajit Ray is famously called the Father of Indian Cinema. He has written and directed many films during his lifetime. Two of his most famous works are Pather Panchali and Shonar Kella. To celebrate his contribution to Indian cinema and literature, the Rajasthan government has decided to install a Satyajit Ray statue in the city of Jaisalmer. This will be the first statue of his to be installed outside of West Bengal. 

Rajasthan has become a  famous tourist attraction due to its forts and monuments. Installing a statue of Ray will further boost the tourism of Rajasthan, and bring in more visitors. The installation of the statue will be done  by September 2023.
