Team World beats team Europe to win the 2022 Laver Cup.

Frances Tiafoe won the Laver Cup title for Team World in London on 25th September, saving four match points to defeat Team Europe’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, and giving his side a 13-8 victory. Four-time champions, Team Europe, entered the final day of the three-day event with an 8-4 lead. The American, who beat Federer in the Swiss great’s last competitive match, proved himself once again with a great victory. While Federer had hoped to mark the end of his career by lifting the trophy in a tournament he helped create, the Swiss legend was left to congratulate Tiafoe and the rest of the Team World squad. McEnroe was clearly overjoyed to finally end a long wait to taste victory and get one over old rival Bjorn Borg who was captain of a Team Europe side. Winning the Laver Cup is a massive achievement for Team World, who lost the previous four editions. They overcame a full-strength Team Europe, who were studded with the Big 4 – Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray.
