The Day Sunil Gavaskar Became the First batsman to Score 10000 Test Runs

Back in 1987, on March 7th, Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar did something very special. He became the first batsman in the world to score 10000 Test runs! Today, we are celebrating the 37th anniversary of that great moment.

Sunil Gavaskar scored his 10000th test run during a match between India and Pakistan. This match took place in Ahmedabad. He was already a very well-known cricketer, however, this made this cricketing journey extra special!

The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) is a special group that looks after cricket matches in India. They paid tribute to Gavaskar by presenting him with a cake.

Known as the “Little Master,” Sunil Gavaskar is a very famous Indian cricketer. His 10000th Test run was not only a big win for him, but also a very big win for India!
