Today in 2010, Burj Khalifa was Officially Opened in Dubai 

On January 4th, 14 years ago, the Burj Khalifa was opened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It’s the tallest building in the whole world! It is also known as the ‘Vertical City,’ and it is 828 meters tall. It was named after Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who used to be the president of the United Arab Emirates.

Inside the Burj Khalifa, there are homes where people live, offices where people work, restaurants, hotels, and many more. There are special viewing areas on levels 148, 125, and 124 that offer a remarkable view of the city of Dubai.

Before the Burj Khalifa was made, the tallest building was in Taiwan, named Taipei 101. The Burj Khalifa is famous around the world. It can be seen in many movies, and it is one of the most photographed buildings in the world. It took six years to build it, and on January 4th, 2010, its launch was shown around the world via television.
