Securing the third position in the qualifying matches, Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the 2024 tournament. Uganda will become the fifth African nation to play in the T20 World Cup.

The T20 World Cup was first started in 2007 by the International Cricket Council. The tournament generally takes place every two years. It is called twenty20 or T20 because every team faces a maximum of 20 overs in a match.

The 2022 T20 World Cup had sixteen teams competing against one another, of which England came out victorious. In the 2024 edition, there will be twenty teams divided into four groups. The tournament will take place from 4 June to 30 June.
