Why is Easter Celebrated

Easter is popularly celebrated all over the world by Christians. On this day many Christians go to churches, observe fasts, participate in special events, sing praises of the lord and light candles.

Easter marks the day of resurrection of Jesus Christ from death by crucifixion. Christians start to prepare for Easter a  week earlier which is called the holy week. They believe that God resurrected Christ to show people that by following the teachings of Christ, they will be given a new life filled with hope and their sins will be forgiven. This is why Easter eggs are made during this time because they symbolize rebirth and new beginnings.
