Why is Easter Celebrated

Easter is a festival that is widely celebrated across the world, especially by people belonging to the Christian religion. Every year it falls on a Sunday, usually between March 22 and April 25. As per the New Testament, Easter is celebrated to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ after 3 days of his death by crucifixion. Christians refer to the week before Easter as the holy week. During Easter, Christians go to Churches, observe fasts, participate in special events, sing hymns and light candles. Easter eggs are a big part of Easter celebration because eggs symbolize rebirth and a new life.

There is a spiritual belief associated with Easter which fuels its significance. Many Christians believe that God resurrected Jesus to instill faith in the hearts of believers. They believe that their lives will be filled with hope and ultimately be granted salvation if they turn to the path of Jesus and follow his teachings. Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from death during Easter further strengthens the faith that Christians have in him.
