Darjeeling to Host World Tennis Masters Tournament

Darjeeling will be hosting the SBI Life MT 200 World Tennis Masters Tournament at the Darjeeling Gymkhana Club in association with the Bengal Tennis Association. The tournament will be held from May 13 to 19. The Darjeeling Gymkhana Club was established in 1909. The tournament will also receive support from the International Tennis Federation (ITF). 

The tournament will be attended by more than 90 players from all across India and from other parts of the world. There will be 9 categories in age groups. The youngest age group to participate will be 40 plus and the oldest will be 75 plus. Both men and women can participate in the tournament. The tennis tournament is going to be a ranking tournament, which means that a player’s performance decides his or her scores. Based on these scores, they receive a rank in the particular category.
