World Archery Championships 2023

The World Archery Championships are an international archery competition that is organised annually by the World Archery Federation (WA). It was first established in 1931 and played in Poland for the first time. 

The 2023 World Archery Championships was held in Berlin, Germany. The competition started on July 31 and came to an end on August 6. The archers who demonstrated exceptional skill at this championship will be selected for the 2024 Summer Olympics which will be held in Paris, France between July 26, 2024 and August 11, 2024.

The list of events in the 2023 World Archery Championships included men’s and women’s individual, men’s team and women’s team and mixed teams. A total of 531 archers from 81 nations participated in the championships. 

This was the first time that India won the gold medal in the World Archery Championships since 1931. India won a total of 4 medals (3 gold and 1 bronze) in the 2023 World Archery Championship. Indian archers Ojas Pravin Deotale and Aditi Gopichand Swami won the gold medals in the men’s individual and women’s individual events respectively. In the women’s team event, players Parneet Kaur, Aditi Gopichand Swami and Jyothi Surekha Vennam won the gold medal. The bronze medal was won by Jyothi Surekha Vennam in the women’s individual event.
