World Cancer Day 2024

Every year on 4th February, World Cancer Day is observed around the world. Cancer is a harmful disease that happens to many people. However, it can be cured with the right medicines and treatments. This day teaches people how to fight against this disease. 

The first World Cancer Day was observed in 2000. An organisation named “Union for International Cancer Control” started celebrating this day.  In 2022, a three-year campaign was started by the UICC with the theme of “Close the Care Gap: Everyone Deserves Access To Cancer Care.” 2024 is the last year for this three-year campaign. 

With the introduction of World Cancer Day, people have come to know about how it can be cured and how much it costs. People with less income are helped to take the proper medicines. 

Even though it is dangerous, cancer can be cured with the right medical treatment. This day brings to attention the need for people to come together to make our world cancer-free.
