World Earth Day 2024

Every year on 22 April, World Earth Day is celebrated around the world. This day reminds us of the different issues our world is facing. It also inspires people to take action to protect our planet. This day highlights important issues like climate change, deforestation, pollution, and saving animals. 

The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970. A US Senator gave the idea to celebrate this day to draw people’s attention to environmental problems. This inspired millions of people, and they joined him in making World Earth Day a possibility. 

Earth Day is now observed in more than 190 countries. In 2024, the theme of this day is “Planet vs Plastic.” This theme highlights the negative impact of plastic on our environment. 

On Earth Day, people across the globe participate in various activities to honour the planet. These activities include planting trees and cleaning up parks and beaches. Schools often host events to teach kids how to save the planet. This day gives us a platform to think about how we can solve these environmental issues and make the world a better place for everyone.
