World Food Day 2023

  World Food Day 2023

World Food Day is celebrated every year on October 16th. This day brings out the need for proper food for everyone. In 2023, the theme is “Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind,” pointing out the role of water in farming and making food.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization was founded in 1945. They declared October 16th as World Food Day in 1979, to make people aware of food challenges that are faced by many.

Even though food is a basic right, millions of people do not get enough healthy food and clean water. World Food Day focuses on these problems and aims to end global hunger.

Over 150 countries observe this day, working together to fight hunger and make sure everyone has enough to eat. It’s a day to understand that we should produce food in ways that don’t harm our planet, share it equally and make sure that no one goes to bed with an empty stomach.
