World Hearing Day 2024

Every year on March 3rd, World Hearing Day is celebrated around the world. This day tries to make people aware of how to prevent hearing loss. It also educates people about how to take care of their ears. 

In 2007, the World Health Organisation (WHO) observed World Hearing Day for the first time. It was first known as International Ear Care Day and was later renamed by WHO in 2016. On this day, WHO asks various governments, institutions and people across the world to promote safe hearing. 

The theme this year is “Changing Mindsets: Let’s Make Ear and Hearing Care a Reality for All.” The theme is selected by WHO every year. Other than that, WHO also creates educational flyers, posters etc to teach the general population. 

An event is organised at the headquarters of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva on this day. To celebrate this day, we can take some steps to prevent hearing loss like using earplugs in noisy places and going to the doctors for checkups.
