World Malaria Day 2024

World Malaria Day 2024

World Malaria Day is observed every year on April 25. This day tries to raise awareness about malaria. Malaria is a serious disease which is caused by mosquito bites. It affects millions of people around the world. This day brings to attention the need to stay safe from this harmful disease. Also, it teaches us how to stay safe from it.

In 2001, the African government decided to celebrate 25th August as Africa Malaria Day. In 2008, it was made into World Malaria Day and since then it has been celebrated to recognise global efforts in fighting malaria.

It is important to educate ourselves and others about how to stay safe from malaria. Here are some ways in which we can stay safe from it:

  • By wearing full-sleeve clothes and full pants.
  • Applying creams that help keep mosquitoes away
  • By using mosquito nets while sleeping
  • By using mosquito-killing coils and machines at home
  • By keeping windows and doors closed so that mosquitoes can not enter our homes

We can work together to prevent malaria by following these steps. This day inspires people to come together and fight against this harmful disease. To do our part, we can inform our friends and family about how to stay safe.
