World Student Day 2023

  World Student’s Day 2023

World Student Day is celebrated in India on 15th October to honour the 11th President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam dedicated his entire life to the improvement of children’s education and welfare throughout India.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. He became a famous scientist and was called the “Missile Man of India.” He was awarded Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, in 1997 for his work in science and politics. He was elected as the 11th president in 2002 and served for the next five years. His down-to-earth nature and love for educating children earned him the title of “people’s president.”

The theme of the day in 2023 is “If you fail, never give up because FAIL stands for First Attempt in Learning.” Dr. Kalam believed that the students are the greatest assets of the country.  He also authored many books such as ‘wings of Fire,” “Ignited Mind” “Turning points” etc.

To honour Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, many schools arrange activities like quizzes, essays, etc to inspire students to see education as a path to self-improvement and encourage them to be future leaders, innovators, and change-makers.
