World Voice Day 2024

World Voice Day 2024

Every year on 16 April, World Voice Day is observed worldwide to celebrate the gift of voice. Our voice is the medium through which we express our emotions and ideas to others. This day raises awareness about the human voice’s importance, encouraging people to take care of their vocal health.

A group of doctors from Brazil gave the idea to celebrate this day. The first World Voice Day was celebrated in 1999. By 2002, many countries started celebrating it, making it a global event. Every year, many organisations working for vocal health come forward to support this day. A theme is selected every year, and in 2024, the theme is “Resonate, Educate, Celebrate.”

This day also raises awareness about the different problems that are faced by our voices. Many people end up hurting their voices by practising harmful habits such as shouting and not drinking enough water. This day urges people to practise habits that are good for their vocal health. To maintain a healthy voice, we should practise good vocal hygiene, drink enough water, avoid harmful habits, and go to doctors when necessary.
