World Youth Skills Day

World Youth Skills Day, celebrated annually on July 15, acts as a reminder to young people of the importance of honing new skills. This day was established by the United Nations in 2014. Enhancing one’s skill set is of major significance for both personal and professional growth. With the ever-expanding technological advancements and societal transformation, it is necessary to upgrade our skills for a better future. 

People celebrate this day in many ways. Some organise meetings between employers and young people, providing them with job opportunities and placements. Others organise programs for the youth to learn new skills.

Every year the UN provides a theme for World Youth Skills Day. The theme decided for this year is “Skilling Teachers, Trainers and Youth for a Transformative Future”.
