Youngest Speed Skating Champion in History

Speed skating is a form of ice skating in which athletes compete against each other in covering a certain track distance. The World Single Distances Speed Skating Championship 2023 was held at Thiaf in Heerenveen, in the country of Netherlands. It went on from the 2nd to the 5th of March, during which 11 countries participated.

In this championship, Jordan Stolz, an 18-year-old from America surpassed all other ice skaters to become the youngest gold medalist in the history of speed skating. He beat history by covering a distance of 500m in 34.10 seconds in the men’s 500 meters event. The previous holder of this title was Dutchwoman Femke Kok, who won the race at the age of 19 in 2020.
