CONTINENTS OF THE EARTH

The Earth, where we all live, is divided into land and water. We all live on land. Even the land is divided into different parts called continents. Inside these continents are countries like India, China and Canada. 

There are 7 continents on Earth. Look at their maps and let’s learn about them.

1. Asia

Asia is the biggest continent on Earth. Most people live on this continent. India is located in Asia. The world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, is also in Asia. 

2. Africa

This is the second-biggest continent on Earth. There are more than 50 countries in Africa. The world’s longest river, Nile, is in Africa. 

3. North America

North America is the third-largest continent. It has countries like the United States of America, Canada and Mexico in it. In total, there are 23 countries in North America.

4. Europe

Europe is the second-smallest continent in the world. Yet, Europe has the third-most number of people living in it. The smallest country in the world, Vatican City, is located in Europe. 

5. South America

South America is the fourth-largest continent in the world. There are only 12 countries on this continent. The largest country in South America is Brazil.

6. Antarctica

Antarctica is the fifth-largest continent. It is the coldest place on our planet. There are no countries in Antarctica and people do not live there. One can find polar bears and penguins in Antarctica. 

7. Australia

Australia is the smallest of the seven continents. There are only 3 countries in this continent. Animals like the koala, kangaroo, emu and kiwi can only be found on this continent.
