MONTHS IN A YEAR

In a year, there are 365 days. These days are divided into 12 months. In this chapter, you will learn about the 12 months.

1. January

January is the first month of the year. There are 31 days in January. On 26th January, we celebrate the Republic Day of India.

2. February

February is the second month of the year. It is the shortest month with only 28 days. In leap years, it has 29 days.

3. March

March also has 31 days. The festival of Holi is celebrated in the month of March. It is the third month of the year.

4. April

April is the fourth month of the year. There are 30 days in April. The summer season usually starts in April.

5. May

May has 31 days. It is the fifth month. It is also the hottest month of the year in India.

6. June

June is the sixth month of the year. It also has 30 days. The rainy season starts in June.

7. July

July is the seventh month of the year. It has 31 days. It rains heavily across India in July.

8. August

The month of August also has 31 days. It is the eighth month of the year. India’s Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August.

9. September

September is the ninth month of the year and has 30 days. The autumn season starts in the month of September.

10. October

This is the tenth month of the year. There are 31 days in October. Usually, Durga Puja festival takes place in this month.

11. November

November is the eleventh month of the year. It has 30 days. The winter season starts in November.

12. December

December is the twelfth and last month of the year. It has 31 days. Christmas is celebrated on 25 December.
