Movements of Animals

Movements of Animals

We all move when we need to do different things. We walk to class, swim in the pool, or run while playing! Animals also have their own ways of moving.

Let’s learn about how animals move.

1.   Run

Running is when you move by making your legs go very fast! You can reach a place really quickly when you run. Animals run when they chase another animal. They also run to get away from danger. Cheetahs, horses and dogs are some animals that can run very fast!

2. Swim

When you are in a swimming pool, you use your arms and legs to move in the water. that is the movement of swimming! Animals that live in the water, use their tails and fins to swim. Fishes, sharks and dolphins are excellent swimmers!

3. Fly

Animals move in the air by flying. They can fly using wings. They flap their wings very quickly to fly in the air. Bats and birds can fly. Insects like bees and butterflies can also fly.

4.   Crawl

Crawling is a way of moving on the ground by using your body or your hands and legs. Some animals crawl because they have no legs, like snakes and worms. There are also animals that crawl because their legs are too short, like turtles and crocodiles.

5. Hop

You hop by jumping from the ground using both your legs. It can be a fun and playful way to move! Animals like frogs, rabbits, and kangaroos hop to move from one place to another. They use their strong legs to jump high and far.
