SOUNDS THAT ANIMALS MAKE
Human beings talk to each other. Similarly, animals also talk to each other using different sounds. In this chapter, we shall learn about five such animals and the sounds they make.
- The sound that a dog makes is called a bark. It sounds like ‘woof’ or ‘bow-wow’.
- Cats talk to us through a sound called meow. Baby cats called kittens meow at each other.
- Cows, buffaloes and bulls make a sound called moo. Every cow’s moo sounds different.
- Snakes make a hissing sound. Snakes are long animals that do not have legs.
- Lions make a loud sound called a roar. Tigers, leopards and bears also roar.
6. Bees make a sound called buzzing. The sound comes when their wings move very fast.
7. Dolphins are sea animals. They make a sound called clicking. Dolphins can also whistle.
